Manu Juneja spent nearly two decades in corporate leadership — leading sustainability, volunteerism and people programs across global teams. Through career changes, cross-country moves and the particular chaos of raising kids while working full time, she kept noticing the same thing: the circumstances changed, but the noise in her head traveled with her everywhere she went.

That realization led her, somewhat reluctantly, to mindfulness. Not the app version. Not the retreat version. The real, unglamorous, sit-with-yourself version — starting with a ten-day Vipassana retreat in her twenties, a Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) course in 2020, and growing into a daily practice that quietly changed everything.

After years of practicing Eastern meditation techniques, she is now completing a mindfulness teacher certification with Western teachers Tara Brach and Jack Kornfield through the Greater Good Science Center at UC Berkeley, and has since run mindfulness workshops with corporate teams.

Today she brings that same warm, practical approach to leaders and teams navigating change, uncertainty, and the relentless pace of modern working life — drawing on real experience of what it feels like to lead under pressure, from the inside. She writes weekly at Decoding Life on Medium, and is based in Boston, Massachusetts.

Why now We're living through a moment of real uncertainty — economic shifts, rapid technological change, and workplaces asking more of their people than ever. Leadership voices are responding. Brené Brown and Adam Grant name mindfulness as a core skill of empathetic leadership on their podcast The Curiosity Shop. Neuroscientist Dr. Amishi Jha's research shows it measurably sharpens focus under pressure. This isn't a trend — it's a return to something leaders have always needed.
